Smart Class
The Smart Class is a system designed to bring the teacher and students at different physical locations together in an interactive environment, using videoconferencing and live broadcasting techniques.
Joint lectures, seminars and jury meetings can be held together with other classes with similar technologies all over the world using the current videoconferencing capabilities. Lectures, seminars, presentations and meetings can also be broadcast live on the campus via internet.
Facility & Tools
- It is administered by the Physics Department under the supervision of the President's Office.
- It is situated in the Physics Department (Ground Floor Z-53).
- The capacity is 32 persons excluding the host.
- Working Hours: Every weekday 09:00-17:00, except lunch break (12:30-13:30).
- Host Computer:
The host could present any digital material (presentations, documents, tables, etc.) to the class from this computer. - Interactive Smart Board:
On the interactive smart board, the host could present documents and handwriting and could make drawings using ready-made shapes. - Video Conference System:
The class can be connected to other physical locations through this system (Tandberg C40).
Usage Request
All requests have to be sent to the Physics Department. The department will reply back the applicant by email. Note that for periodic events (e.g. lectures) maximum 15 hours could be allocated (corresponding to 1/3 weekly available times). The following information has to be included in the request:

| Priority | Select from the list (similar requests will be evaluated on a First-Come-First-Served method): (1) Teaching within ODTÜ, (2) Scientific events organized within ODTÜ, (3) Teaching from outside ODTÜ, (4) Scientific events held outside of ODTÜ |
